PT ANGKASA Pura Indonesia’s Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan International Airport branch in Balikpapan has announced that Sepinggan Airport parking rates will increase starting Monday, September 7, 2026.
Management described the adjustment as part of a comprehensive evaluation aimed at improving public facility security and overall service quality. General Manager of SAMS Sepinggan Airport, R. Iwan Winaya Mahdar, stated that the decision aligns with the Off-Street Parking Activity Standard Certificate issued through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system for parking operator PT Angkasa Pura Suport.
Iwan emphasized that the rate adjustment serves a clear strategic purpose. The policy will support ongoing investment in airport infrastructure, fund operational upgrades, and gradually cover capital recovery costs for facility enhancements.
"This tariff adjustment reflects our commitment to continuously providing safe, comfortable, and technology-driven parking facilities for airport visitors," Iwan said on Monday (Aug 24, 2026).
Airport management has established a progressive pricing structure across all vehicle types. The revised rates apply to the first hour, subsequent hourly increments, and the maximum 24-hour overnight parking fee.
For Balikpapan residents and air travelers, here are the full details of the rate adjustment taking effect on September 7, 2026:
Two-Wheeled Vehicles (Motorcycles): IDR 5,000 for the first hour, IDR 1,000 for each additional hour, and IDR 28.000 for overnight parking (24 hours).
Four-Wheeled Vehicles (Cars): IDR 10,000 for the first hour, IDR 3,000 for each additional hour, and IDR 79,000 for overnight parking (24 hours).
Four-Wheeled Commercial Vehicles (Box Trucks): IDR 18,500 for the first hour, IDR 5,000 for each additional hour, and IDR 133,500 for overnight parking (24 hours).
Alongside the new fee structure, airport authorities are accelerating cashless payment adoption. Out-gates now feature integrated electronic money (e-money) card readers and QRIS payment options to minimize exit-gate congestion.
Beyond payment efficiency, facility security remains a priority. Management has expanded CCTV coverage across critical areas of the parking structure, updated road markings, and upgraded lighting systems throughout the property.
To ensure public awareness, airport management is conducting a two-week public information campaign before the new Sepinggan Airport parking rates officially take effect. (*)
